Futures Sport Bet
A Futures Sport bet is based on the outcome of events that happen each year. All bets are final. There will be no payouts until the conclusion of the specified season.
If the bettor's selection (person, team, etc.) does not participate in the event for any reason, the bet is considered a loss.
The odds offered by the sportsbook may change between the time the bettor places his bet and the time the event starts; regardless, the bet is subject to the odds displayed at the time he placed his bet.
In the event of a dead heat for first place, stakes will be divided by the number of selections dead heating with the divided stake settled at full odds; remaining stake money is lost. The dead heat rule only applies to future bets. If the tie was a betting option, the dead heat rule does not apply.
For example, if there is a 3-way tie for the top scorer in a football game, his winnings are calculated by taking your stake, dividing it by 3, and multiplying that amount by the odds on his betting ticket.
Tipster's Corner by James Rodes
Just by flipping a coin, sports bettors will be right 50% of the time. At odds of 10/11, only 52.4% of the sports bettors' wagers have to win for them to overcome the bookmaker's profit and break even, so they only need a very small edge to become a winner.
